The VICAP – Vietnam Israel Crossborder Accelerator Program 2022 brings together established companies from Vietnam with students and young professionals from Vietnam and Israel. Through a co-creation framework, multinational teams solve technological and business challenges brought in by the companies. In VICAP, we will find out the potential multinational teams as well as CEO. Each CEO of a team as a CAPTAIN and they have to find the right team to come on their board. Participants from Vietnam will deeply understand the market needs, combine with participants from Israel holding strong technologies, working together to solve the real problems brought in by the companies. Companies from Vietnam and Israel present VICAP’s multicultural teams innovation with challenges relevant to their business, in fields such as: Industry 4.0, The Internet of Things, Logistics, IT-Security, InsurTech, Others,… Entrepreneurs and young professionals from Vietnam, Israel form international teams, and engage in a Teams are guided throughout the program by highly skilled mentors to create solutions for the proposed challenges. Part I. Virtual Kick-Off Workshop & Matching Phase (April 01st to April 27th 2022) The three companies and 40 potential individuals participating in the VICAP 2022 come together for an intensive virtual kick-off workshop, at which the three challenges are introduced and the individual binational teams formed. The team will be matched including Vietnamese & Israeli participants with full team composition (CEO, CTO, BA and others). Part II. Acceleration Phase (12 weeks, May – July, 2022) The teams develop of a tailored solution for the proposed company challenge supported by virtual mentoring and online collaboration tools. Part III. Demo Day (End of July 2022, tentative) The teams present their developed solutions both to the company partners as well as to a bigger audience. BSSC is one of the most prominent startup support centers in Vietnam. Established in 2010, BSSC has intensive programs for startups of all stages, including: i) financial support for early-stage startups, ii) incubators and accelerators; iii) international startup competition; and iv) startup events. Over 10 years, BSSC has built a close-knit startup community and network of more than 10,000 startups, 25,000 entrepreneurs, 1,400 mentors and industry experts, and 200 investors. Established in early 2015 by a group of young students and graduates alongside industry figures, Tech7 is an umbrella organization aiming to unify the technological-entrepreneurial community in Beer-Sheva and the south. With over 10,000 followers through Facebook, Meetup and other social networks, we’re proud to be the largest tech community in Beer-Sheva. Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is a specialized agency under the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and has the functions of counseling and assisting the People’s Committee in the State management of science and technology including science and technology activities; development of science & technology potential; standards, metrology, and quality; intellectual property; application of radiation and radioisotopes; radiation and nuclear safety; and management and organization of the public services in the fields that are within DOST’s authority scope in accordance with legal provisions. The Embassy of Israel in Vietnam is dedicated to promoting bilateral relations between the two countries in all areas based on the shared values, interests and challenges. This is the first program in Vietnam that is organized in the form of combining multinational resources between Vietnam and Israel. In general, during the pre-phase and the virtual kick-off workshop you will be placed in an international team of three or five people, composed of Israelis, Vietnameses. Each team will be working on a challenge of one of our company partners. A mentor from the company will be your go-to person for questions and guidance, and one Vietnamese and one Israeli coach will be assigned for each team to help you along the way. You will be required to develop an innovative solution to the company’s challenge, research, offer solutions, achieve progress, and present deliverables on every milestone until the final presentation to the company (June 2022). Eligibility Requirements Advantages The VICAP 2022 program is sponsored by the Embassy of Israel and the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, participants do not have to pay any fees. However, to ensure the success of the program, the participants which pass after matching phase must sign an agreement to fully participate throughout the activities. If you drop out midway, you have to pay back to the program 100 USD, including lecturers, mentoring, and international networking fee respectively. The output of this program has a variety kind of outcome (presentation, solutions, prototypes, MVP, …), which is validated and priced. If this outcome maybe spin off to the joint venture, they will be held by 4 parties, including: team (VNese participants, Israeli participants, Tech7 and BSSC). If anyone want to use the MVP for commercialization, all partners will discuss by the economic contracts Each team will be working on a challenge of one of our company partners. A mentor from the company will be your go-to person for questions and guidance, and one Vietnamese and one Israeli coach will be assigned for each team to help you along the way. Each team has a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 members, including Vietnamese and Israeli participants. If your team has a member drop out midway and does not guarantee the minimum number of participants in each team, your team will be disqualified from the program. To ensure the success of the program, the participants which pass after matching phase must sign an agreement to fully participate throughout the activities. If you drop out midway, you have to pay back to the program 100 USD, including lecturers, mentoring, and international networking fee respectively. We will screen applicants and interview candidates. Only candidates who meet the program’s criteria will be joined in this acceleration program. Since this is an international program, fluent English is required. In order to ensure smooth and professional work, please pay close attention to the following terms of participation: Taking part in the Program (edition #1) is under the terms specified by BSSC & Tech7 and outlined on the project website (https://vica-program.com/), and within this document. All participants are requested to treat any non-public knowledge he/she gains about the other involved parties (e.g. the corporate partners) with confidentiality during the cooperation agreed in this contract and especially not to pass it on to third parties. This commitment continues after the expiration of the program. Engagement between companies and participants during and afterwards are the parties’ responsibility and VICAP 2022 is not liable for this relationship. As part of our project, promotion, and dissemination requirements, participants may be required to participate in a photo, video, and/or film session. Participants acknowledge that VICAP 2022 has the rights to use such photos, videos and/or films in an appropriate manner to promote entrepreneurship and open innovation initiatives using any reasonable medium. In order to create a fluent and cooperative communication among the teams and other stakeholders, participants approve for relevant professional data from his or her CV/ LinkedIn/social media page profiles to be distributed to other parties involved in the project (e.g. corporate partners, other participants, coaches, etc.). This information will be kept in accordance with normal data protection procedures. Participants are expected to attend and participate in all the online workshop and program activities. This includes If certain circumstances arise beyond our control or responsibility due to Force Majeure such as acts, events, non-happenings, omissions, accidents or acts of God, fires, wars, riots, labor disputes (strikes or lockouts), sabotage or unusually severe weather we reserve the right to terminate this contract without any liabilities or obligations on our part.
